Little Wing

Here’s the intro to Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing.” The first part was played with a very clean strat tone, probably using one of Jimi’s 100 watt Marshalls but at a low enough volume so they did not distort.
At the end of the intro, on the sliding chords with the open G string, Jimi and Eddie Kramer switched his guitar tone to run through a rotating Leslie speaker. He used the Leslie for the rest of the song.
This is a great chord melody that incorporates playing the roots of the chords with your thumb! Fly on!
